Help Fire-Impacted Musicians Recover: Donate to Altadena Musicians Today

The devastating Eaton and Palisades fires forced countless Southern California musicians to lose their homes, instruments, and livelihoods. As they relocate across the region to rebuild their lives from scratch, they need our community’s financial support more than ever.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Jeff Hanson, founder of the Surf Guitar 101 Festival, Altadena Musicians is heading to Orange County to raise the vital funds needed to keep these artists playing.

How you can make a difference right now:

  • Donate Online Today: Every single dollar goes directly toward helping fire-impacted musicians rebuild, restock, and recover. No amount is too small.

  • Visit our Festival Table: If you are attending the Surf Guitar 101 Festival, stop by to buy our official SWAG or make a direct financial contribution. We are also accepting small instruments and vinyl LP donations on-site.

About Jeff Hanson

Jeff is the founder of the Surf Guitar 101 Festival that has been running since 2008 (with a 2 yr break for covid). Jeff is not in a band but he owns a guitar and a bass and dabbles in playing but his passion is booking shows for other musicians!

His love for surf guitar was born right here in the Southern California surf scene. While instrumental bands were popping up across the country, it was Dick Dale who ignited the local movement in the early 1960s. Playing for homegrown SoCal surfers, Dale’s legendary shows at the Rendezvous Ballroom were always packed to the brim. In fact, the crowd of local surfers would show up straight from the beach in their surf gear, hilariously forced to borrow bow ties at the door just to meet the venue’s dress code!
