Altadena Musicians Announces “Backyard Party”: A New All-Ages Music Venue and Creative Space in Pasadena

PASADENA, CA – October 2025 – Altadena Musicians, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the power of music to those impacted by the 2025 LA Fires, announced the launch of “Backyard Party,” a new 1,500 sq. ft. all-ages music venue and event space in Pasadena. Born from the ashes of the devastating Eaton Fire in January 2025, Backyard Party aims to provide an affordable, accessible, and safe environment for young musicians and the wider community to engage with music and art.

Backyard Party will serve as a vibrant hub for live performances, music lessons, rehearsals, and instrument repairs. In addition to embracing new talent, the venue will host screenings, game nights, and feature a vinyl record store with FREE shopping for those impacted by the 2025 LA Fires. It will also function as a convenient drop-off location for instrument donations to Altadena Musicians’ Instrumental Giving program, which has already distributed over 1,600 donated instruments and gear to fire-impacted musicians and schools.

The initiative draws inspiration from Pasadena’s rich musical history, particularly the legendary “backyard parties” of the late ’70s that launched iconic bands like Van Halen. Backyard Party seeks to revive this DIY spirit, offering a platform for a new generation of artists to find their voices and build a supportive community outside traditional gatekeepers.
